“Sick and Tired”

Life is not fair.

So, just live it. That’s what I say.

When I do my best, I’m criticized for it. Therefore, I stop putting forth the effort.

But, when I give just enough, I’m penalized for not trying hard enough.

So, I go ahead and put more emphases into the project of life, nobody gives a damn!

However, the slightest imperfection or mark outside the line, they’re up in arms, ready to hold me in contempt.

Boy, I swear. I’m damned if I do—damned if I don’t.

I see now, why those people, who we think are crazy, walk down the street talking to themselves—they ain’t crazy at all.

They’re just sick and tired of being sick and tired. Like I’m sick and tired.

I’m just gonna live this life that God gave to me.I’m gonna look to Him for approval.

I won’t listen to anybody but Him. Unless His voice speaks through someone

Like my Mama. My sisters. My brother. My favorite auntie or uncle. Other family members. Church members. Or my very best friend.

Then I’d be all ears.
