Bang

An emotional poem about gang violence and guns

BANG

Bodies in the streets
seen by children every day
people acting crazy
like insurgents in Iraq
we don't need two wars
so stop this fighting and
don't make the gun go BANG!

People out partying laughing it
up just having a good time
then comes the yelling
and the fighting
insults every which way
then someone pulls the trigger
and the gun goes BANG!

Bloodshed needs to
stop right here right now
I have seen my friends die
just because someone
let the gun go BANG!

Too many shots have
been fired too many people
have been lost so stop
right now
before the gun goes BANG!


I wrote this for a young man that just died
in a gang fight
where someone pulled a gun
and shot him
in memory of Sabastion
