terrifying lights flashing in front of you
death screams searching for help
not what happened but what has been lost
we'll pay with love, faith; at any cost
a loved ones failure
your broken heart gasping for life
you lose your brother, father, or sister.
your mother, husband, or wife.
we laugh about things we don't understand
we refuse help, thinking we don't need another hand
maybe it's the affection, the love of another
that keeps us going, rising above each day
but we're not all stronger
we have weaknesses, flaws, unimaginable problems
problems that lie within the soul, head, heart
losing more beats, as said before
but all we want is more, more; more.
more time to spend, love to spare
trust to gain, more time to care
but how much time is time enough
for something that disappears more everyday
how much caring can be given
when superman is no longer living.
