Feeling numb
I can't make the pain stop
It haunts me every day
The man I love with all my heart
Is pushing me away
The man who once would not give up
Any time with me
Doesn't seem to want me
Now that he is free
For all the love I've given
For standing by his side
I thought that I deserved the dream--
But instead my soul has died
I am no more than a body
That moves throughout the day
With a mournful ache inside my chest
That never goes away
Still I do my best
To keep my chin up off the floor
I wish I meant as much to him
As I did before
Death is certain for us all
Of mine I'm not afraid
For I will feel the pain no more
From wherever I am laid.
