Ritual

It's about an hour before bedtime.
Mom, dad, daughter, and son,
Are all in mom and dad's huge bed.
As they each get comfortable and continue a conversation about their day,
The lights are off but one lamp.
The huge flatscreen is alive with images.
It's the nightly ritual.
With various snacks of each person's choosing,
Dad with his peanuts,
Mom with her cheese toast,
Daughter with her ice cream,
And son with his Chef Boyardee.
They all settle in to watch,
Star Trek: Enterprise.
