amid the freezing breezes |
| “Untouched whisper” Taste it with a fresh breath; hear an untouched whisper, when the winds swirl gently over the winter-barren limbs of an old oak tree. Here – where the fields hide beneath the snow – the words of wisdom ripple through the leafless branches, dispensing upon me a stable heart. A quiet voice lingers – with unknown awareness – speaking softly, amid the frigid breezes; telling me that I am still loved in places where God waits. I wrote this poem for the Inspirations contest. It is a poem of awakening for me - at a time when I began to realize how deeply God loves me. The year 2009 brought many life changes to my life, some very good and others with much anguish. Finding out that God loves me and hearing his soft voice brought me to a new life. Thanks to Radler Zpheitor for the gentle change in the verse. |
