Poem for a fallen angel (contest entry for Images Through Time) |
| Link to the prompt image: http://www.majhost.com/gallery/Iridescent-raven/Myspace/fallenangel.jpg Blackened wings, burnt and shorn, Twitch at her back, longing for flight, So different from the white she once had worn, Broken in the futile fight. Blackened ribbon, dark and twisted, Gone forever from heaven's light; The ribbon there is just like her, Twisted in the pain-filled night. Blackened sky and blackened water, Dark with night and her despair, Watch as she counts beads for the Father, Praying He will see her there. Blackened wings, burnt and shorn, And yet the scene is bathed in light, The tragedy that she has born An unjust mark on a soul of white. |
