                                                                7 YEARS LATER



"Kat hurry up"! Rob yells from the bedroom. Kat is 7 and is a first grader now.



" Mommy, where's my crayons" ? she cries hugging my leg. I give her a box of crayons and usher her to the car. I strap her in her booster seat and give her a quick kiss. Her blond curls bounce as she reaches to give me a hug. Her fare skin glows in the light and Rob comes out.



"Bye honey" he says and kisses my cheek. I watch the sleek black car back out of the driveway and head back inside in my robe. I open up the internet and write a post for my blog.

Thats how I feel watching my daughter leave for school.

I knew that was a lousy report but I missed my little Kitten Kat even though she's coming home. I grab a heavy box from the closet and open it. It has our family pictures. I take a blank wall and hang pictures up. I hang up Cara and Catherine, my mom and I, The wedding day, my father, Kat in preschool, Family Reunion and more. My favorite is where Kat is missing her two front teeth, Rob's hair is a mess from the wind and me well my dress is about to fly up in the wind and the photograhper snaps our picture of us behind the rose garden down town. I laugh and hang it up.



    I get dressed and go out to my Ford and hop in. On the dash board is a picture of Rob, on the mirror there is Kat's school pictures. I smile and a tear of happiness drops.





          When I arrive at a small brick house I knock. Cara opens it up and smiles.  " come in" she begs.



We hug and I hand over a packet. "Catherine's school pictures and a letter from her to you" I say.





Dear Birth mommy,

    my other mommy tail me you r my rel momm. I cnt wait two see you soon. Last time you had my broder now mama say you got my three new sissys.love KAt



"She wrote it by herself?" Cara questions with tears. I nod my head and ask to see the children. She brings out 4 kids and smiles.



"This is Brandon, the oldest he is suspended from school for two days so he's staying home ( 14)

This is Cassady or KC ( 10)

This is Amy (8)

This is Tina ( 3)"



"When you adopted Kat I was overjoyed because this many children plus you know what gets hard and also Max is gone he got married to a nice lady named Dana Fresh and they have 2 kids" Cara blows into a tissue. I hug Cara and decide to leave. After all , I plan on taking a privatre vaction soon..........
