Lost

I wrote this shortly before my father passed away after years of fighting cancer

She sits in her room alone again
Tears streaming down her face
The last person she ever wanted to lose
Just lost his battle
She screams out to no one I HATE YOU
How could you let him die
I don’t understand
Why did you take my daddy away?
She sinks farther into the deep dark hole
She cries, she screams
Her whole life he was there
She had her own problems
He was there
Now nobody is there to pull her free this time
She is alone
She sits in her room alone again
The tears streaming silently down her face
