Distillation

What IS Poetry?

Thoughts cascading off a brush
to capture an essence; to paint with words
the viscera of an emotion,
the minutia of a vision,
the celebration of a sound.
Conjuring a moment with depth
or, perhaps, freeing an inner wisp of memory
then letting both
or either
loose
to be framed within the reader's imagination.

Infinity grasped within
the palm of the soul.
