Extended Days

I.
Yesterday I saw
The Spring meadows blossom with
violets of a most
odd and unusual shade;
the color of copper rust

II.
Autumn comes quickly
Waves like Mogami River.
The grass sways and bends
Speaking of a coming storm
That only I seem to know

III.
Shinjuku rises
Around Mt. Fuji, and I
fail to hear the sound
of the falling winter snows
as streetlights become new moons
