A poem about life and love, sin and regret, lust and desire
As I glance from the safety of the down blanket on my bed
The Autumn wind does roll in to greet me with a shiver
The sky is cloudy, grey and dark but the leaves are bright and red
It drys my face in sweet embrace, blowing away the once flowing river
Sitting up, I look with harsher gaze, to the distant dirt of the road
Empty, just like my heart, only travelers come and go
Never do they stay long, for they have their own travels and their own loads
But I remember every one, and the things they taught and things they showed
What he showed
What he did
The way he glowed
My mind's image of him I cannot rid
His hands soft as we touched and played
Upon this bed where I be laid

Ha, fickle thing, thinking of the past
Why couldn't I see our love would never last
I needed his feel, his lips against my lips
Hand on my cheek, another on my hips
Explorer? No, adventurous yes
Not one thing we felt would be seen as less
All this as the summer sun set
the wind through the windows we cherished and let
