A poem I wrote for my shy soft spoken daughter |
| Buck Up Buttercup! Buck up buttercup! Put some steel in your spine. Don't ever be afraid to speak your mind. Not everyone will like what you do or say, just let the truth guide your way. Don't let anyone wipe their feet on you, or get you caught up in something that you can't undo. When you speak, speak like you mean it! Let your voice be heard. Make them hear every single word. Remember- a closed mouth does not get fed. So tell them what you want- don't be scared. Shyness is not a weakness but it can hold you back. You are a force to be reckoned with! Don't ever forget that. So, buck up buttercup. Put a little skip in your stride. There's nothing wrong with a little bit of pride. Never forget you deserve to be respected. The world is yours, go out and get it! |
