September's Song

Searching for meaning

It has been a heartbreak
knowing you,
you tore my heart in two.
My heart wasn't mended,
from another love
that had ended.
You came into my life,
in September's song,
you promised me roses ,
and the moon,
never realizing,
it would end in
the same old tune.
Broken dreams,
shattered photographs,
memories
streaming tears,
melting into the
burning coals
of my heart. A little stronger,now,
pain has become
my company,
caused me to go
down,
once again,
on my knees,
looking for a comfort,
beyond,
this world,
of hurt and pain.
I plead my case,
I seek to be free,
from this tainted
misery.
