A special poem about missing someone long after it is too late to make things right. |
I Miss You By Keaton Foster I used to wonder Where you had gone. I would often scream, How can this be? "I miss you" Is all I could say. There was no reply, No reason why. Only nothing abounded, Only nothing remains. You have long since left me, Left us all. I remain, and so does the pain. Your death changed nothing Except one crucial thing: Any chance for you and me Has been torn asunder. Regret fills my heart Like a heavy stone. I must bear the weight Of chances missed And decisions I failed to make. I refused to forgive you; Now I refuse to forgive myself. You grew old, and so have I. For a lifetime of days, We were strangers. Now we are less. *I miss you* is all I can say, And I do, every day. You will never reply. In death, as in life, You and I will never Find a way to communicate. "I miss you," and for that, I am truly sorry… I Miss You Written by Keaton Foster © 2012. |
