Monday

Monday morning
clouds cover expanse of sky
a blanket shrouding,
as dampness looms
across the dome of sight.

My sullen mood,
gray as the sky above,
colors my thinking
and serves to bring down
my plans for the day.

I await the rain.
but it holds off.
I pray for sun,
knowing it shall not be.
I make preparations,
knowing not the weather.

Another Monday.
If only the sky were blue,
as opposed to my mood.
