A poem reflecting the feelings when a dream fails to play out into reality.
I wrap my qualms between walls sodden with treachery,
Liberating a path crammed with acrimony and revulsion.
Nothing can ever tempt me into any expectations again,
For it's just a word for disappointment to come.

Promises are not meant not to be broken.
They're to haul you into a chasm obliterating you,
Seasoning beings to choke on misinterpretations
They once based their life on.

Fuck you, I don't care anymore,
Separate your way from mine.
Your tongue will no longer assemble my aspirations,
Find a new idealist to deceive.

You opened my senses to the world
And closed the entrance of my heart.
Frolic upon someone else's feelings,
Mine holds no motive to you anymore.

Playing with fire had to lead to tribulation sometime,
So pillars gave way for barriers thwarting betrayal.
The edge you liked to play on doesn't exist to any further extent,
Parades of counterfeit pledges caused it's downfall.

I shall climb the deception by myself from now,
I don't need you to impede my sight anymore.
The darkness will become my playground
As your shadow can't chase mine there.

Why should I close my eyes, block my ears or shut my mouth?
Is it to believe the lies the world throws up in my face?
Maybe to prevent me from seeing what other people fear?
Fear overwhelming in just another form of reality?

Wake up optimistic dreamers and face your life.
See the world for what it is and don't slander it better.
One day you'll wake up and realize the hallucination you clutched to
Won't be there tomorrow, leaving your life, built around visions, empty.
