When An Ego is Lost

I’m a writer but I’m silenced
Unread are my words
My critics overwhelm me
As they judge my every phrase

A story occurs, I am the central character
I gush forth with new endeavors
I am She who feels
My story moves forth,
It is a progress in the making

Dreams once fulfilled, now nightmares
I awaken in a cold sweat
To find it is life or a remnant of such
Now I’m the star of my own show

Oh ego of mine hide yourself
Allow criticisms to be as not
I’ve learned some new lessons
And my work shows it.
