Disparity

Men and women, disparity of social expectations and gender stigma, thinking out loud.

I met a beautiful woman one day
And I asked her,
"Tell me, what is it like
To be wanted and praised and adored
And pursued and admired wherever you go?
What does it feel like to know
You will always be courted, desired and noticed
Without making an effort?
Tell me, what is it like
To be loved?"
She shrugged and responded,
"I don't know. It has always been thus."
