Feeling exposed

Don’t leave me in this stillness
I cannot empower the silence
Thickness in these walls
Reminds me of what I’ve endured
My arrogance
My blissful brooding
Does not carry my soul
Any closer to yours
Does not make me any better
At shaking you
Don’t leave me with myself
They’ve torn the sheet from my body
I have never felt so exposed
Or exhilarated
To be picking up the pieces
