North Korea Threat To United States

A spokesman for the North Korean Foreign Ministry has issued a statement threatening to retaliate against the United States for what he called "double standard" by the United States after recent rocket launches by both North Korea and South Korea.

A spokesman for North Korea's Foreign Ministry would not discuss what action may be taken by North Korea against the United States on North Korea's "Korean Central News Agency".

The United States stated that South Korea's rocket launch last Wednesday had no military intent, but North Korea's launch last December was illegal because North Korea used banned ballistic missile technology. The United States feels that North Korea is testing the missiles for military research that they could some day use to attack South Korea.

The United Nations counsel has issued more sanctions against Pyongyang because of it's launch last December. Pyongyang stated that it should be allowed to launch rockets for peaceful purposes and not be sanctioned and pressured by the United States and United Nations.

Both North and South Korea say their satellites are working properly. Though the United States stated that North Korea's is malfunctioning. This is just another incident adding to an already delicate situation involving North Korea and the United States.
