Never on a Tuesday

Never on Tuesday will Wimpy renege,
though you may think he is one hollow leg.
If you are kind and buy him a Big Mac,
you can rest easy he will pay you back.

Wednesday is when he will make burger plea,
matter of fact it just happened to me.
“I’ll gladly pay you,” is how he begins;
he’s got the knack so he usually wins.

Don’t expect Thursday to be payback day;
Wimpy might hear you but he’ll turn away.
Nor will you notice on Friday a dime;
Wimpy will not even give you the time.

Forget the weekend--again it’s not right;
remuneration will not be in sight.
You can insist and connive and cajole,
but you will just get a Wimpy eye roll.

Even on Monday no money is seen;
Wimpy delays yet he’s not being mean.
Asking on Monday is futile at best;
Wimpy will tell you to give it a rest.

However Tuesday repayment is sure;
(patience will stew when time gives it a stir.)
He unabashedly often will beg;
never on Tuesday will Wimpy renege.
