A Great Lakes storm claims another victim (A Rondeau) |
| And the Steel Dragon sank, crew and all. The storm, the worst the storytellers could recall, The roughest seas since yesteryear. One's like these, the lake-dwellers fear. These storms aren't infrequent this late in fall. The kids building sandcastles saw it all. They were the ones who made the emergency call. A Sea Knight deployed when it started to clear. And the Steel Dragon sank. The Magic Horse had gotten caught in the squall, But managed to find safety behind a break wall. Of the Steel Dragon they found only her gear, And part of the rudder they had used to help steer. Now there's a statue in the Mariner's Hall. And the Steel Dragon sank. |
