Losing Sleep

A poem about why I'm losing sleep.

At the edge of sanity
Looking over humanity
I need a cigarette to dull the pain
Another habit I can't gain
My steps are heavy
I'm anything but steady
Hold my heart together
And I will surrender
I'm losing sleep
Too many secrets to keep
File me under crazy
Straight jacket baby
Just let me live free
Away from misery
I want to hide behind the sunshine
And make everything mine
