Astro Base

The Astro Base descends in stately fall
to land upon the planet with beige floor.
A relic from a time when space did call,
it is a toy that Tommy does adore.

It sinks into the carpet O so slight,
all set to carry Tommy far from Earth.
How proud it bodes in colors red and white,
and Tommy’s sure to utilize the mirth.

An arm extends to lower astronaut,
or cargo needed on the lunar plain.
One step for man is normally what’s sought,
and the first step is with the Astro crane.

  The Astro Base lifts off in child’s play:
  yet Atlas and Saturn will have their day.

The Atlas and Saturn were rockets (launch vehicles).
Atlas launched the Mercury capsules into Earth orbit,
while the Saturn launched the Apollo ships;  Saturn V was
used for the moon missions.  But Astro Base beat them all.
