Closer To The Truth In a world so huge When was it ever easy? In a world so fearful When was it ever calm? === All that happens Always happened News are old stories Shaped in various forms === Some see a colourful rainbow Some see a misty fog Many see black and white Few see all === Supporters of the norm Beloved forever Deviants from the norm Condemned forever === Everyone is different Everyplace is different Everything is different Everytime is different === In each age Solutions are crudely updated In each step People grow stiffer === Their knowledge dictates How it is What it is Why it is === Closer to the truth Many hide Closer to the truth Little accept === What is it? The truth we seek What is it? The lies we condemn === Many question motives Without discovery nor presentation === What they see What they hear All acknowledged Based on desire === In the end What happens remains in our hands === Solutions are best When closer to the truth I realised overtime with past experiences that running away from the truth is only a natural response. What is the truth? It's a question I always ask myself. It's verifiable fact. I try not to look too much into over-saccharine optimism and associate this piece with the Biblical phrase "the truth will set you free." In a way, the truth can set you free from ignorance. It will not set you free from pain. That is why people tend to avoid it. People give into their emotions when faced with the truth. Especially if this truth, is undesirable on their part. The truth is always powerful. I don't necessarily embrace it and say it's the best thing known to mankind. It's often underappreciated and neglected. That can be a negative aspect, it can become destructive. It can tarnish self-empowerment and spirit. In fact, the truth can tarnish those things too. However, the damage is more often than not temporary. Facing a problematic truth is the first step in solving the problem. It also defines a person's character. It defines them as very brave, honest and true to their rationality and heart. |
