All Hallows Eve

It was 10:00pm on Halloween night in Black Creek. Children were already dressed in their costumes, running around trick or treating. Laughter can be heard throughout the town. Most of the houses in the neighbourhood are decorated with Jack o' Lanterns, lights and other ornaments.

There is a group of four teenagers walking around, smashing pumpkins and egging houses. Luke, who is small with dark brown hair, has a camcorder with him to record the events. He is wearing a hockey mask to keep his face hidden. Chris, who is a fat, ginger boy, has covered his face in red make-up. Erik is a boy of average height with light brown hair. He is dressed in a cheap Batman costume. The leader of the group, Jack is a tall skinny boy with jet black hair. He thinks dressing up is stupid. He decides to egg an old gothic manor that is not decorated. The manor isn't even painted. It is just grey brick. A man named Mr Burke has lived there for decades. Mr Burke is a tall man with light grey hair and small glasses. Chris and Erik don't like Jacks idea because they have heard that Mr Burke is crazy. Jack ignores them and egg's the house anyway. After Jack finishes egging the house the group leaves. Luke turns back and sees Mr Burke watching them leave from his living room window.

The four teenagers are walking around the town, scaring little children and stealing their sweets. They hide behind trees and walls and wait for children who are unaccompanied. They would jump out and scream and the children drop their bags and run away. They pass by a girl and boy who looked older than them. Luke records the girl as he goes by her because he has never seen her in town before. They keep egging houses and scaring kids. It is 11:00pm when Luke sees the Imperial Heights apartment building in the centre of the town. There are twenty two floors in the building. Each floor is covered in orange and red lights and decorations hanging in the windows. Luke starts recording it and sees someone on the roof of the building. He zooms in on the camcorder to get a better look.  Just as he zooms in the person jumps off. Luke tells the others to look. They can tell it is a woman as her screams echoed across the town. There is a loud crash just as her screams stop. They don't believe what they just saw. Luke thinks he saw another person on the roof with her but he was mistaken. They run to the building to see if what they just saw actually happened. Jack wondered why the woman screamed if she jumped off

When they got to the building, there were already three ambulances and two police cars there. The woman had landed on top of a car parked outside the building.  The fall damaged her body so much, nobody could identify her. She was covered in blood. The bones in her legs had broken through the skin and half her face had been torn off.

Luke recognised the smashed car but couldn't think from where. The group overheard a police officer talking about a mass suicide in one of the apartments. Luke got the dead woman on film and the group left. They went through the park across the road from the building.

In the park the trees are blowing back and forth making a rustling noise. The four of them were making jokes and talking about the pranks that they pulled until Luke heard someone moaning behind him. He turned around and Erik was gone. Luke followed by Jack and Chris walked over to a big oak tree that they had just passed. Luke walked around it and found Erik lying on the ground in a ball.  Luke turns off the camcorder and leans down and starts turning Erik over. As he turned him over his intestines slowly slid out of his body. Luke jumps to his feet. Chris turns around and gets sick onto the grass. Jacks face turns very pale. He turns around when he hears approaching footsteps. Someone wearing a mask walks out from behind a bush holding a kitchen knife covered in blood. The three boys run in different directions.

Chris runs for the exit of the park. One police car was leaving the apartment building. Just as he gets to the gate the car drives away. He runs onto the street and yells at the cops to wait but they don't hear him. Chris hears someone calling for help. It sounds like a little kid. He is grabbed by a cloaked person and pulled into the park. Chris starts screaming.  Jack, who is hiding up a tree, hears Chris screaming. He yells to Chris to see if he is alright. He gets no reply so he climbs down the tree to go look for him. He checks around every tree he passes to see if there is a body or if someone is waiting to jump out. The person with the kitchen knife and skull mask comes out from behind a tree. Jack asks him "what do you want?" The masked person replies "I want to get out of here. I've been lost in this park for hours. I tried to take a shortcut across the town but got lost. I tried to ask you if you knew the way out but you all ran away. " Jack replies "there's an exit over by that water fountain." The masked person walks away. He gets to the fountain and walks over to it. He looks down, screams and runs out the gate.

Jack wonders why he screamed so he runs over and looks behind the fountain. He finds Chris, lying in the foetal position, crying with his arms held up to his chest. He kneels down beside him and Chris reveals that his hands have been cut off. Chris looks up and starts screaming. Jack turns around and before he can react he gets stabbed in the stomach by a machete. Jack falls to the ground and looks up at someone wearing a black cloak with his face covered. He stabs Jack another eight times in different spots on his body. Blood is flying as he pulls the machete out and stabs him again. The cloaked person finally kills Jack by stabbing him in the heart. The cloaked person then turns to Chris and slowly walks over to him and slits his throat. Chris gurgles, coughs up blood, and then dies.

Luke who was lying down under a nearby bench had just recorded his friends being killed.  The murderer starts looking around the park for Luke. He walks right by the bench Luke is under. Luke is relieved when the cloaked person walks by. All of a sudden Luke is grabbed and pulled out from under the bench by his feet. He is stabbed in the back and is dragged over to a tree. The camcorder is still in his hand. Luke is sat up against a tree. The cloaked person takes the camcorder and starts recording him. He stabs Luke through the stomach and into the tree. There was a cracking noise when the blade hits the tree. Luke manages to ask "who are you". The cloaked person takes a mask off his face. Luke's breathing starts to slow down and he dies after a minute. His head falls and blood starts pouring out of his mouth. The cloaked person closes the camcorder, sticks the machete into a tree and leaves the park.

The cloaked person walks down the street. When a police car drives past him he starts crossing the street. He stops in the middle of the street when another car crashes in to the police car. The driver of the car gets out and starts running down the street. He knocks the cloaked person onto the ground. A police officer gets out of the police car and runs down to help him. He has a cut over his eyebrow and blood is running down the side of his face. He helps the cloaked person up off the ground. The police officer asks "are you hurt? The cloaked person replies "Yes. My back hurts a little." The police officer starts walking the cloaked person home. They walk until they reach a big grey house. The cloaked person is walking up to the front door when the police officer says "Happy Halloween" Mr Burke pulls down his hood and replies "I hate Halloween."

Angela O'Brien has worked in the local bank for years. She is a short woman with brown hair that goes down to her shoulders. She is a bank loan officer. She is with a tall man with curly black hair. His name is Brian Thompson. He is hoping to get an extension on his mortgage payment. She is forced to deny him the extension as the payment has already been extended before. This means he is going to have to leave his house. He asks "is there anything you can do?" She replies "I'm sorry but it's not up to me." He gets very angry and jumps at her. She jumps away and calls the security guards and they throw him out of the building. He gets into a blue car and drives away. He has a custom license plate that reads BR1AN. She finishes work at 5:30pm and goes home. She is unlocking the front door when she sees a car stopped in the middle of the street. She looks at it for a second and it drives away. She goes inside to finish decorating the windows. She finishes decorating at 8:00pm and turns on the news. There is a story about the Imperial Heights apartment building in the centre of the town. Her friend lives there in apartment 191. Every Halloween the building is decorated by the people living there and is visible from all over the town. She turns the TV off and goes to change. She is going to her friend's costume party. The party starts at 9:00pm. She is going as the Bride of Frankenstein and her husband is going as Frankenstein's monster. Angela puts on a long white dress and ties her hair into a ball. She puts a black wig with a white stripe on her head. She then covers her face in grey make-up. Steve puts on a brown suit, covers his face in green make-up. He puts two plastic screws on his neck and walks downstairs with Angela.

They put a dummy dressed as a clown outside their front door and leave a bowl of candies on its lap. They put up a sign that says "Please take one sweet each" and they leave. They walk down the path and out the gate. A car pulls up and a woman with short red hair and glasses gets out of it. Her name is Marie. She is Angela and Steve's neighbour. Marie compliments their costumes and Angela and Steve get into their car and drive down the street.

They arrive at the party at 9:30pm. There are a few guests there already. The apartment is decorated with banners, skeletons and Jack o' Lanterns. There is a fog machine in the shape of a skull in the corner of the room. She meets her friend Joanne who is the host of the party. Joanne is a tall woman with long blonde hair. She is wearing a Cat-woman costume. Joanne brings Angela and Steve over to a table covered with drinks and food. They each take a drink and start talking to the other guests. By 10:00 most of the guests have arrived. Steve is expecting an important phone call but left his phone on his bedside table. He gets the keys to the car from Angela and leaves the apartment. He presses a button for the elevator. It takes too long so he takes the stairs. He goes out the front door and over to the car. He is feeling a bit tipsy so he decides to walk instead.

Marie is with her daughters, Lisa and Megan. She is bringing them Trick or treating. Lisa is dressed up as a princess and Megan is a Fairy. They go up to Angela's house and each girl goes up to take a sweet. When they reach for a sweet the clown moves its arm towards the girls. They scream and run to Marie. They walk away to go to other houses. Just as they walk away Steve walks up the sidewalk and crosses the street. He walks up the path to the house. He unlocks the door and goes inside. He goes upstairs and into his bedroom where he left his phone. He checks it to see if there are any missed calls. He turns around and gets hit in the head. He falls to the floor unconscious.

Back at the party Angela has been waiting for Steve for over an hour. She's talking to Joanne when her phone rings. She answers it. "Steve is this you?" "No, it's Marie." "Oh Marie, how are you?" asked Angela. "I'm fine. I'm just calling about the decorations you have up." "What about them?" "It's just that the clown you have outside your front door. It really scared Lisa and Megan" "Well, what do you think it was that scared them?" "I think it was when the clown lifted its arm. How did it do that? Is someone in the costume?" asked Marie. "No, it's just a dummy. It can't move its arms." Angela pauses for a minute, says bye to Marie and hangs up the phone. She tells Joanne that she has to go just as she was carrying a cake out of the kitchen. She runs outside and over to her car. She then realises that she gave the keys to Steve. She starts running down the sidewalk.

When she gets to her street she sees a little girl standing outside an old house. She is crying. Angela keeps running up the street until she gets to her house. She notices that the clown is gone and the front door is wide open. She goes inside and calls Steve. No one answers. She hears footsteps coming from upstairs. She goes to the closet to get a baseball bat that belongs to her son Luke. She finds it. She starts walking up the stairs. Some of them creak when she steps on them. She gets to the top of the stairs and goes into her bedroom. She goes into her bedroom and sees a broken lamp on the ground in front of her bed. On the bed lies Steve unconscious.

Angela runs over to see if he is all right. He has been hit badly in the back of the head. She starts shaking him and he comes to. She says "I thought you were dead." Steve yells to turn around. Angela does and sees the clown running at them with an axe. He cuts off Steve's right foot. She hits the clowns hand with the bat. He drops the axe. She kicks it out the door. Steve is screaming in pain on the bed. The clown goes out the door to get the axe. Angela slams the door behind him and blocks it with a dresser. He starts hitting the door with the axe. Angela helps Steve off the bed and into the bathroom. Angela wraps a towel around Steve's stump to try and stop the bleeding. She leaves the bathroom and tells Steve to lock the door. The clown is now breaking through the door. Angela climbs out the window and onto the roof. The clown makes a big enough hole so he can put his hand through and push the dresser away. He sees the open window and runs over to it. He looks out and sees Angela running away. She is going around the house looking for another open window. She calls the first number in her phone. The phone is ringing when the axe smashes through a window. The clown reaches out, grabs her ankle and trips her. She screams and drops her phone off the roof. The clown pulls her through the window into Luke's room.

Angela tries to hit him with the bat but he blocks it with the axe. She keeps swinging the bat at him and eventually knocks the axe out of his hand. She hits him in the head and he drops to the floor. She kicks the axe out the door. She goes into Luke's closet and pulls a rope out of one of his hoodies. She ties him to the leg of Luke's bed and goes to get Steve. She goes into her bedroom and sees the bathroom door open with a hole in it. She looks in the bathroom and Steve is lying on the floor dead. He has been decapitated. Angela drops to her knees sobbing. She kneels there for a minute, then stands up and walks to Luke's room. The clown is sitting by the bed laughing. She picks up the bat again. "Who are you?" she asks him. He doesn't respond so she hits him in the head with it. She asks him again. He still doesn't respond and keeps laughing. She hits him one more time. This time he doesn't look back up. He doesn't move at all. She drops the bat and falls to the ground. She reaches to take off the mask but suddenly his hands break free. Angela screams as he pounces on her. He holds his hand over her mouth and nose. She starts hitting his hand. Her face is going deep red. The doorbell rings.

She slowly stops hitting his hand, and passes out. The clown takes his hand away from her face. He hears someone walking up the stairs. He runs out into the hall and picks up his axe. He goes back into the bedroom and hides behind the door.  Marie walks up the hall and stops at the bedroom door. She sees Angela lying on the floor. She takes a gun out of her jacket pocket and slowly walks into the room. She kneels down beside Angela and checks if she is still alive. The clown moves out from behind the door with the axe raised over his head. Marie sees his reflection on the lenses of her glasses. Marie quickly turns around and shoots him in the shoulder. He drops the axe, stumbles backwards and falls out the door. Marie turns back to Angela, who is now awake. Marie hears the clown going down the stairs. She tells Angela not to move and runs after him. She runs down the stairs and outside. On the front step lies the clown mask. She hears a car engine start. A blue car speeds down the road. On the back of the car is a custom license plate that says BR1AN.

Joanne is having a costume party in her apartment. She lives on the top floor of the Imperial Heights apartment building in the centre of the town. She lives in apartment 2208. Every year the residents decorate the building with lights and Jack o' Lanterns. She has had a party every year since she moved into the building. Most of the residents in the building are invited. She has also invited a few of her friends from work. Everyone says that her parties are the best. She prepared most of the food herself but she ordered cakes from a bakery. She went to a new bakery across the street from the bank where she works. The bakery is called The Devils Little Bakery. They opened a few days ago. They say that their cakes are to die for. She ordered three cakes that morning. She hopes there will be enough for everybody. On her way home from work she stops at a liquor store to stock up on drinks for the party. Its 7:00pm when she gets home. She sets up a table for the Food and drinks and then finishes decorating the apartment. At 8:30pm someone knocks on the door. It is a delivery man there with the cakes she ordered. She takes the cakes and thanks the delivery man. She brings the cakes in and goes to get changed. She goes and changes into her Cat-woman costume. At 9:20pm the doorbell rings. She opens the door and a small group of people are waiting outside. They are all dressed in different costumes. She invites the guests in and closes the door.

Its 9:50 and a lot more people have arrived at the party. Joanne is having a drink with her friend from work, Angela, and her husband, Steve. Steve has to leave the party to go home because he forgot his phone. Steve has been gone for nearly an hour. Joanne and Angela are talking about a client that Angela was dealing with earlier that day and how he had to be thrown out due to aggressive behaviour.  Angela's phone starts ringing. Joanne goes into the kitchen and was carrying one of the cakes she bought when Angela told her that she had to go. She ran across the room towards the door. Joanne puts the cake down on a table beside the drinks. She brings the other cakes out and cuts each one into twenty pieces. People start going over and taking pieces of cake. Everyone is saying how good the cake is and asking where she got them. When Joanne sees a few pieces of cake left she takes one for herself. She's about to take a bite when the phone rings. She leaves her plate down and goes into the kitchen to answer it. When she answers the phone all she hears is a woman screaming. She becomes a little scared. She hears people moaning out in the living room followed by some loud thuds coming from the living room. She hangs up the phone.

She leaves the kitchen and sees all the guests lying on the ground, dead. Each one has blood pouring out of their mouth. There is a man kneeling down beside some of the bodies. He is wearing all black and a mask of an old man. She screams and the man looks up. He gets a shock when he sees her. He jumps to his feet and says "you're supposed to be dead. Everyone was supposed to die." He runs at Joanne. She dodges him and runs out the door. He grabs the knife that was used to cut the cakes and runs after her. Joanne runs up the hall to the stair case. She tries to trick the man chasing her and runs upstairs instead of down. It doesn't work though.  She trips while running upstairs and is seen by the man. She gets to the roof of the building. She picks up the handle from an old sweeping brush, hides behind the door and waits.

The door bursts open. The man looks around for a minute. Joanne pushes the door slowly and hits him across the head with the brush handle. He holds his head for a second and then turns around. She swings at him again but this time he grabs the handle and snaps it in two. Joanne tries to run be he grabs her and stabs her in the back. He starts walking her to the edge. He stops right at the edge. He pulls the knife out and turns her around. He looks into her eyes. She looks petrified. She takes his mask off. She starts to say something to him but he throws her off. She screams all the way down until she lands on Angela's car parked outside the building. He climbs down the fire escape to avoid being seen by anyone.

He walks away from the apartment building. He keeps walking until he gets to a small building. He goes inside and into a big kitchen. There is an old man there. He is mixing something in a bowl. The old man says "Oh James, your back. Are they all dead?" James replies "they are now Phil." Phil tells him to open a box on the counter and hand him a bottle. He takes out a bottle and looks at the label. It says Potassium Cyanide. Phil pours the powder into the bowl and keeps mixing.

The next morning James passes a big white box across a counter to a woman. She says thank you and leaves the box. A sticker on the box says The Devils little Bakery.

Two teenagers are walking down the street. Their names are Greg and Alice. They are both around eighteen years old. They walk past a group of younger teenagers. One of the teens records them on a camcorder. They keep walking until they see a little girl outside an old, abandoned house. The girl is crying. They stop to ask what is wrong. She tells them that her cat ran into the house. They tell her that they will go in and find it. They go in and start looking in different rooms. They hear a loud bang coming from one of the rooms upstairs. Greg tells Alice to stay downstairs while he goes and checks upstairs. He goes up and tries to find where the noise came from. Alice has been waiting for five minutes. She hears a loud thud. She calls Greg and gets no response. She decides to go up and see where he is. She walks into an old bedroom. She sees Greg lying on the floor unconscious. She runs over to him. She gets hit in the back of the head by something and passes out.

Alice wakes up sitting on the ground against the wall. Her hands and feet are tied together with a rope that is hanging from a rafter in the ceiling. Greg is sitting between her and a bed, still unconscious. He is tied up as well. She starts hitting him with her elbow. He slowly wakes up. He looks up and gets startled by two men standing at the door. Peter and Derek. Peter is a tall man with dark brown hair. He is around twenty four years old. Derek is small with red hair. He is around twenty one years old. Derek is holding a knife. They move closer to them. Alice asks "What do you want?" Derek says "This is for our master." Peter grabs the rope on the floor that Greg is tied to and pulls it. Greg gets dragged across the floor and then pulled off the ground. He is now hanging upside down. Peter puts a bucket under Greg. Derek, places a knife at his throat. Greg starts to panic and Alice starts yelling "Wait. Don't do it." He doesn't listen and slits his throat. Alice starts screaming as blood pours from Greg's neck into the bucket on the floor. Derek and Peter leave Alice alone in the room.

Alice is sitting in the room watching the blood drip from her boyfriend. She looks around for anything sharp enough to cut the rope binding her hands and legs. There is a broken window at the other side of the room. She rolls onto her side and kicks her way across the room. She picks a shard of glass up off the ground, holds it with both hands and starts cutting at the rope. She cuts her hand while cutting the rope. The rope finally breaks and she starts cutting her legs free. She hears the two men coming back up the hall. She starts cutting very fast to get free before the come in. The door bursts open.

The men walk in and see that Alice is gone. They think she must have climbed out the window. Derek goes over and looks out.  When he turns around Alice is holding a shard of glass up to Peter's neck. She threatens that if they don't let her go she will kill Peter. Derek starts moving towards her. She tells him to top or she'll kill him. He keeps moving towards her. He takes out his knife and tries to stab her. Alice pushes Peter towards the knife and without realising it Derek stabs him in the side. Alice runs out the door, downstairs and out of the house. The little girl asks if she found her cat. Alice pushes her aside and runs down the street.

A police officer named Shane is in the police stations break room. He is a short, chubby man with ginger Hair. He pours a cup of coffee for himself and walks over to a table where there is a box of donuts. He picks up a donut and before he bites it another officer runs into the room. He tells Shane that there has been an accident at the imperial heights apartment building. A woman committed suicide by jumping off the building and there was a mass suicide in one of the apartments. Shane takes the donut and closes the box. A sticker on it says The Devils Little Bakery. At the apartment building Shane is trying to break up a crowd on the street surrounding the dead woman. A group of teenage boys were looking at the dead woman. They leave and go into a park across the street. A while later some paramedics put the woman's body into an ambulance and to take her to the hospital. Shane leaves apartment building. On the dashboard of Shane's car is a picture of a red haired woman with glasses and two little girls. He looks at it for a minute and then reaches for the donut he took earlier. He picks it up and is about to take a bite when a blue car crashes into his. He drops the donut and hits his head on the steering wheel.

The driver of the blue car gets out and runs down the street holding his stomach. He knocks over a cloaked person crossing the street. Shane gets out of his car. He has a cut over his eye and blood is running down his face. When he notices the cloaked man on the ground he runs down to help him. The cloaked person hurt his back so Shane decides to walk him home. First Shane writes down the license plate number on the blue car. The license plate says BR1AN. Shane walks with the cloaked man until they reach an old manor. Shane says "Happy Halloween" to the cloaked man. Mr Burke pulls down his hood and replies "I hate Halloween."

Shane continues to walk down the street until he sees two ambulances outside his house. His neighbour is being taken to the hospital. Shane crosses the street and goes into his house. His wife Marie and his two daughters, Lisa and Megan are sitting in the living room. He sits down beside Marie and starts telling them about his day.

A paramedic driving down the road notices a little girl standing outside an old house crying. He pulls over to see if she is okay. He asks her what is wrong. She tells him her puppy ran into the house and she is too scared to go in. The paramedic goes in to get her puppy. After a few minutes the little girl hears a struggle coming from the house. She smiles and takes a bottle out of her pocket. It is full of blood. She unscrews the cap and drinks some of it. She puts the cap back on and licks some blood off of her two large fangs.
