Miss Went has a laundry disaster.
Ann Went left an ink pen in her coat pocket;
(funny how fast a pen can disappear.)
Ann then discovered that ink has a power;
it was the start of a laundry nightmare.

The shade of each pillowcase mirrored the sky;
blue was the blouse Ann had put in as white;
Ann went on pulling out clothes from the washer,
feeling her faux pas was nary too bright.

Went was amazed at the inky dispersal;
O such a color change from a lone Bic!
She tried to justify her oversight,
but in the end turquoise sheets made her sick.

But it wasn’t just ink that stuck in Ann’s craw;
the ink pen itself became as a punch.
Her panties were laced with a number of holes--
it was like they were silk fodder for lunch.

Ink Pens and the Maytag don’t mix well, she thought;
yet rumination caused Went further woe.
Ann went on paying heed to her lost whites,
sighing at Downy while feeling quite low.

Tube socks made blue with Joe Boxer indignant;
erstwhile white towels cyan at both ends.
Went pursed her lips and made mental resolve;
Ann vowed to never again pocket pens.
