Plans to steal the Hope Diamond. |
(w/c: 390) Finishing the preparation of Leo’s nutritional dish of fresh wild mountain ram, Roger turned to the next problem facing him. How was he going to steal the Hope Diamond that was to be on display at the Atlanta Zoo’s Charity Ball? Roger mulled over various dynamic scenarios in his head. It would be too extreme and impulsive to just steal the stone while it was on display. Luckily, this was going to be a costume gala event and he the nerve and was confident that he could pull this off. Attending the event in a mask depicting Aries, no one would know that it was him. He would ask Angela to be his date. Already he could envision her in a tight red gown which would distract any onlookers from watching him slip away to covertly swap the real Hope Diamond with a good imitation. Yes, this plan would work. ~~~ Angela closed the filing cabinet, turned off her computer and picked up her bag to leave when Roger walked into her office. “Angela, I have something important to ask you,” Roger shuffling his feet like a school boy. Angela watched him as the hair on the back of her neck tingled. “Angela, would you consider accompanying me to the zoo’s charity gala this weekend?” Roger gave her his best puppy-eyed looked. “I don’t know, this is rather sudden.” Angela stuttered. “I don’t have a gown to wear and I understand it is a costume event. I have no idea what to come as.” “I already have that covered for you.” Roger handed her a large box which contained the red gown. Opening the box Angela’s eyes widened. “I, I, can’t accept this. This is just too much.” Angela ran her hand lightly across the beaded and sequined bodice. “I’m coming with a mask of a ram.” Roger offered. “I thought it would be clever if you came as the Queen of Hearts.” He produced a silver tiara studded with Swarowski crystals and a red mask lined with crystals and feathers. “You will look stunning and no one will know who you are.” He beamed. “Before you get all giddy with excitement, let me think this over and I’ll let you know tomorrow.” Angela said placing the dress box and tiara in the bottom drawer of her filing cabinet. |
