Advice to Myself

Think of your ability at writing,
Not of your inability at sports.

Think of all the friends you had in school,
Not of the bullies.

Think of the wonderful Chinese students who learned so much from you,
Not of the brats who annoyed you.

Think of how happy the girl in Ecuador made you,
Not of how she spent your money.

Think of the Jews that were your friends growing up and of the Moslems that welcomed you in Saudi Arabia.
Think of them and not of of the people firing missiles and bombs in Gaza.

Think of the fact that you have no visible symptom of cancer,
Not of the fact that the doctors have found an undiagnosed image in your lung.

Think not of your health insurance (or lack of same),
Think of the prayers and good wishes being sent by Facebook from literally all over the world.

Think of all that God gives.
Think not of what the devil takes away.
