Books and Broken Arrows Chapter Two

                   After a long night looking for a lead in the murder Quinn keep coming up short. Quinn was on his own during the hunt, he sent John down the cost to bring in all the pool hustlers so far he has taken in only ten in the past mouth. John is getting the hang of it but his pool game is far, He can take down an average player but he is no match for true master. Quinn remembers his godson Danny.

         He was a master at pool that kid was the best and no-won could beat him, Danny never played for money and he never cheated either. But one night on one Quinine's round ups he found Danny in an underground pool hall, this hall was mark in his department as a hustler’s ticket to easy street. Each game was a high roller one shooter only game. The object of each game was to get as much of the balls into the pockets with only one shot. With each ball is worth 1,200 each. In the game of nine ball the table is worth 10,800.  Quinn waked into the underground hall and tock a few beers to blend in the into the fold, Quinn was not one to bust a joint on the spot but had a way to blend in without being made by the bouncer, Quinn pick up a ticket to play the tables, he saw young woman were very low cut tops and short panties, the appeal of sex was offer to each person that went by if they want to play the young lady saw Quinn

         "Yah handsome, this can be your night, one shot, one big payout" said the young lady waving her hand over the table as to offing up a life changing event, the young girl to Quinn had to be no more than fourteen, dress in a low cut sleeveless vest showing off her large breast. Her short shorts where black and reach as high as her mid-thigh. She wore sheer stocking to give her already long leg even more high. Quinn was shore if she was a tall girl or it was the stockings and the three inch high pattern letter heals he had on. Quinn walked over to her and pick up a QUE

         "Way yes, this is going to be my night honey and if you’re good I can slip you a few dollars for you time. Said Quinn winking at her. She smirk at him and his remark and racked up the nine balls and Quinn chocked his QUE, “Tell me when you’re ready Handsome" said the girl

"Ok honey, Let them lose' Said Quinn the girl pulled up the rack and step aside so Quinn can see the balls. Quinn lend into the table and with one hard crake of the Que. all nine balls went into the pockets.  The young girl clapped her hands she came close to him so he could feel her  breast on him, she pulled his face down and gave him a deep and long kiss then she ran her hands down the front of his jeans whispering in his ear," Bring this ticket up to the window and Buster will ring you out. she then gave him a blue ticket, then he will give you a red Ticket and you will then take it to the man that is in front of the velvet currents, he will show you into are high rollers room where the pot is over in the millions." she then said " And when you’re done my room number 105 and we can have some fun." she pulled him close again and gave him an even deeper kiss. Quinn pulled her away and patted her on the behind " thanks baby I'll meat you there." said Quinn and walk to the window to ring up his winnings. The man indeed gave him the red ticket and as he was told when to the man at the velvet current. The man nodded and pulled back the current to reveal a heave wooden door he walked up to the door and nocked, the door opened and he walked in. he didn't see the person who opened the door but heard the voice tell him to walk down the hall and turn to the right and he will see the pool tables.

         

         Quinn did just that, as he walked into a small Smokey room only two pool tables wherein the room, he saw a young man, tan skin with dark hair and light build. He walked over to the wall to get a better look at his game. the young man was on his eighth game the man said next to Quinn and has won over ten mill, the little sob is going to win the hole pot said another man to Quinn's left. Quinn couldn't see the young man’s face but form the back Quinn felt as if he know him. The young man was going to take his shot, Quinn moved closer to see, the man arched the Que. and move to the left of the ball and with one hard carking sound the Wight ball smacked into the others and them flying into the pockets.

         The young man wiped his brow and nodded to the young girl to set up the racks again. Quinn hear the man to his Left say the object is to win all ten rounds without missing if he misses one ball he goes bust and it’s the next guys turn. This one is on the ninth game. Quinn step closer to get a better look at the young man, Quinn could see the young man’s face now, the young man walk up to the table and tock his place then nodded to the young girl and aging he arched his Que. and moved to the left of the white ball and again landed each ball into its pocket. With that Quinn knows who the man is, His god son Danny, Danny tock a deep breath and again took his place at the table nodded one last time to the young girl and he one last time arched the Qu and move to the left, all the balls moved into each pocket with fast speed so fast some of the balls almost few off the table. “We HAVE A WINNER, MR DANNY MCGINN HAS JUST WONE OUR 1.2 MILLON JACK POT. The young girl yelled Quinn moved in and graded Danny

         "Evening son, dose your father know your here" said Quinn low in Danny ear so the rest wouldn’t hear. " Jesses, What are you doing here, it’s not what you think, said Danny low and tried to face Quinn but Jesses held him down, " I'm sorry I ever showed you that trick, it was not meant to be used for gambling young man, ring up your winnings and meat me outside" hissed Quinn Danny nodded and Quinn made his way out the door and into the pool hall where he meant the other girl. Quinn saw her aging, she was coming on to one of the player's, she used the same move on him like she did with him but he lost, only one ball went into the pocket, " Sorry baby but your out of luck"

         Quinn moved his way out of the hall and found Danny waiting for him. Quinn walked over to him arms cross eyes narrow, Danny open his mouth to speck but Quinn held up his hand to stop him, all Quinn said was "I’m disappointed in you Danny,"  then added get home now be for the team brings you in for hustling the high rolls. Danny did as he was told and Quinn called in the troops, all the men where rested and the young girls where sent to the hospital to be tested for Rap and other STD that they might have picked up. Quinn pulled out a cigarette and lit up, he puffed on it and blow the smoke in the air.

          He looked at Danny got into the car, Quinn didn't pulled him in for gambling. Quinn waved off the cars as they were pulling out. He made his way back to the station, In Quinn mind, Danny would have never had use that trick for money. He must have been asked too, the only one Quinn can think of is Steve. Steve been in and out of jail for year now for gambling and trying to cheat pool payers.

         It was a few weeks before Danny shows his face in the station. Quinn was coming back from a run and found Danny in his office.

         Quinn closed the door and lower the shades so the other officers won’t see, in case Quinn feels the need to slap Danny around. Quinn walked over to Danny and pointed to the char to motion him to sit, Quinn walked to his desk and pulled out a pip and packed it to smoke it, he looked at Danny "So, What do you have to say" said Quinn

         “Quinn, I want to say I’m sorry for the gambling, I only did it to pay off my student loan, and the rest of the money I put into a savings, so I can live on my own and not have Dad pay my way anymore. I even played him back for all the help too. With my grades and not any help for Dad I was able to get an internship at his hospital. So I just want to say it will never happen again I promise you that much." said Danny

         "Like you promise me you will never use the trick in the first place, if I showed you how I nail all the hustlers Danny." said Quinn puffing on his pip. And tapping his fingers on the desk and giving Danny a stern look.

         "Yah, like I said that night it not what you think, I can assure you that I never showed any one the trick either. I just won’t to prove I can make it on my own, Dad done so much already I just didn’t want to ask him for help anymore. So I can be the first kid in my class to walk out of med school not owning one red cent." said Danny Quinn believed him only with half of the story.

         "One thing doesn't add up son, how you got to know where the ring was playing? “Said Quinn



         "The Ring?" said Danny looking at him oddly

         "Yes, the ring is known in the hustling world as a launching pad for young blood, like you won the big pot, you might be getting a call to join their High Tide game, only the Hustlers know about the ring, So who told you to go, and why didn't you inform me about it.? Ask Quinn puffing on the pip still

         "Um, well it was a class mate of mine, he over here me talking to Dad on the Phone about asking dad to help me pay off some of the lone and I will still pay him back. So I real didn't know it was a ring for gamblers. So I went, I didn't expect to get pass the first table. But I made it to the back that were you found me. "Said Danny

         "Did you use that trick in all the games you played?"

         "No, I do know how to play pool, I use to play each night at the dorm with some of the guys, when we had a midterm and could think to save our self’s, so some of us will play pool and others will throw darts." Said Danny laughing

         "How did that help you pass your exams?" said Quinn wondering

         "Well you see, the pool table was in the game room on the Record building so we would bring out our books, each guy will pick a game to play, pool or darts. So each time they got the answer right they will shoot the ball in the pocket. And the same with Darts. So we would count how many questions each got right. So I would have about 60% right and my class mate would have about 50% right. We will play a game of pool a real game. I would beat him each time, so I tough. But one night after are study group, he pulled on my shoulder. He said Lets now have a real game, you me and Benny. I said Benny? He pulled out a one Hundred dollar bill and place it on the table. He told me if I could land all the balls in the pocket the Hundred was mine." said Danny

         "So what did you do?" asked Quinn

         "Well I played, I used the trick you should me, and won the game, then the guys wasn't mad, he just smiled and nodded. He told me to be at this club, if I want to get out from under my dad I should give it a try. He said the Hundred was my entry fee." said Danny and looked away shamefully

         









"Do you know the name of this kid?" he asked

         "Only know him by the name Strip, even the teachers would called him that." said Danny

         Quinn just nodded, he didn't know any Hustler by the name Strip but he will keep an ear out for him. Quinn looked at Danny.  He sided 

         "Don't sweat it kid, your old man can be a real SOB at times, I know you were not out to rip people off, it just piss me off to see you use it in that fashion, I have half mind to throw you in the rack for gambling but I'm not, if I see you at any more underground Rings I'm going to book you for hustling understand" said Quinn and puffed his pip again

         Understood, said Danny and he got up and left his office.

         Quinn now sees John as a young Danny, Quinn looked at John, John was writing up his latest arises in the hustling games. John felt Quinn looking at him,

         "What up Quinn? Ask John Quinn was looking at him and he felt he might need a hand in make a larger arrests. "Um John, I have a way to help you in your hustling hunt, if you’re up for it i can take your game form being a one to a high rolling nine and all you have to do is hit the ball just once, you interested Kid? Said Quinn with gleam in his eye. John was a little worried he never seen that look before, but this was Quinn, so he just said "OK Quinn, let’s play pool said John

         Quinn spend the last four hours in the game room of the police station with John teaching him how to play pool and when it came to a high roller game, Quinn showed John what it take to win the high rollers game. His one shoot mover was not a trick John could quite understand it. Quinn felt his game was better and he could withe some paretic get better. But he know John will get the hang of it. Quinn was pleased with work. Quinn gave him the Ok, so John was able to returned to the hunt, at least John can get into the high rollers game, maybe not win it but will have a in to get close to taking it down it down. Maybe some joker will now how to find King Pin. Quinn wave John off and he headed home.

         Quinn tock the long way home tonight, seeing all the bright light of the town and the smell of the see. When he got to his place it was eight at night, his twelve hour day finally come to an end. He parked the car and walked up to his apartment on the first floor, for a cop it was fast to get out if needed for a call. He opened the door and turned on the light, the room was small and little bare for some people but it was all that he needed. One small table and one love set and a TV that he never watched. He took off his coat and was going to put it in the closet when he felt someone in “Dammit Amber where the hell have you been, we have been combing the whole cost for you, did you find your runaway, well say something? yelled Quinn

         Amber jumped into Quinn's arms, “No, the kid took a leap off one of the rock, I tired to run after her and I slipped too. I know the kid is hurt if you can all it to the hospitals, maybe then I can get her.  Quinn pulled Amber away and held her buy the shoulders and looked down at her leg. She was bleeding. From the look of it, the cut was deep. He got up and wet a towel and came back and put it on her cut. "Hold it there and I will get the medicine for the cut so it doesn't get worst.  He went and got some hot water and soap to clean the cut, “Now did you hear any voices before you ran out," asked Quinn while he was tending to her cut “No sorry, I just ran and that’s it. Ouch that stings man," yep Amber

         Sorry Amber, I think it will have to be looked at but I won’t take you to the hospital, I will call in the Doctor to see you. Said Quinn picking up his cell phone. “Are you sure they can be trusted ' asked Amber “Yes he can," said Quinn

         The phone was ringing, “Hello Doctor McGinnis specking,"

         “Danny its Quinn, I need you to meet me at my place in ten minutes I have a problem." said Quinn

         “Jesse, Ok um I meet you their “said Danny

Quinn hung up the phone and looked at Amber, " it’s going to be ok Danny is my Godson and the best dame Doctor in the state. So just sit back and relax ok. Said Quinn, Amber did as he said and close her eyes and waited for the Doc to come

         Amber was waiting in the living room for the doctor to come, Quinn went to the bedroom to change, Amber know she had to get out of their before Quinn's godson came. She tip toe to the hall way she didn't see Quinn so slowly she made her way back to the front door and picked to see if the doctor was there, no sign of him Amber ran out of the apartment and jumped back onto her bike and drove off as fast as she can, Quinn came out to fine her gone, there was a knock on the door Quinn went to open it and saw Danny.

         "Hi Jessie, what's the problem are you sick? Asked Danny

         "UM no sorry Danny there’s no need for your help it seems my friend to have gone, but do come in we haven't seen each other in a long time. said Quinn and open the door wider so Danny could come in. " Oh that ok Jesses, I am glad you called me, I have some interesting news to tell you, I'm not sure how you will take it so let me run this by you. Said Danny and made his way to the dining room table. "Ok, do I have to kill anyone this time," you know last time you came to me like this Steve was in trouble with a bookie of his, or are you going to ask Brenda to marry you and you want me to be the best man, right? Said Quinn giving Danny a pat on the back, Quinn always gives Danny a hard time about sealing down and having a family.

         "Oh Quinn, No but your half right, Katrine was just drooped off in the mild of the night, i have received a call from Steve saying he needed my help and if i could look after Katrine for a few days, so I when home Brenda was cooking dinner, I went for a run and i just a about fell over her, she was on the beach a sleep and hurt. Her leg was cut and her answers was she walked along the rocks and slipped. But I'm not sure what to make of this. Said Danny and got up from the table and passed the floor. “Do you know what Steve needs your help in any other matter then just looking after Katrine? Asked Quinn

         No, and that’s worrying me, ever since we were kids I was always helping he out, and I will take the blame, Dad know it was Steve but never busted him, said Danny

         "Well son, in the years of knowing your father and seeing you two boys grow up, you where always the stronger one, you could get Steve out of any mess, i remember the time Steve put bubble bath in the sugar bowls in Mr. Bakers office, myself, your dad and a few of the board members were have a meting to enhance the safety of their staff by adding more cameras in the each of the rooms of the mental Ill ward. Quinn started to laugh when Mr Backer added his sugar to the coffee and we all did the same, it was a see of bubbles all the cups stared to fizz and soap suds floating all over the room, Mr Backer just sat their and went on with the meeting and told the bored members he was trying to cut back on his coffee any way, but once the meeting was over and you dad and I was were left, boy did he yell, your dad Had a feeling it was Steve, but you tock the blame for it, you remember that? asked Quinn,

                    Danny stopped passing, Yeah I do, Dad was so mad at Steve, and I said it was my doing, I never liked Mr. Baker he was always trying to get dad to stay longer at work and he even got dad to canceled a fishing trip he planed it for mounts we where going to have two full week at lake house he had all the time sign out and Mr. baker gave the Ok, but what happens Dad get a call from Baker and is order to a get this a two week convention tour starting the morning of our trip, we where so mad that when we though of a way to get back at Baker and Steve came up with the bubble bath in the sugar bowls.

         "Dad was mad but after he put me on cleaning duty at the hospital and I had to clean Bakers office each day with him looking over my shoulder, he would laugh at the hole ting at home and thank us for make a point he was spending to much time at work and not with us, form the day-on Dad never stayed late or back out of any of the trips planed. But even with dad being home more, Steve still got into trouble,

          "So what are you going to do about Karine, do you thing Steve will come back, or is this one of his messes you are going to clean up for him " asked Quinn

         "Karine is not some pice of trash you can just trow away, she a person who gets left behind or even forgotten at times, Karine had said he's done this before and not to worry, he might show up agin or he might not, she didn't seam to broken up about it, but shies learned to fend for herself since she was young.  "Danny stopped talking and closed his eyes, he stared to pass the room aging.

         "What the matter Son, Asked Quinn, Danny stopped pacing and ran his hand through his hair, "Steve has been going for a few days or maybe a week now, and not one phone call, I fear he is in trouble or he might be dead, maybe this time he knew he wasn't coming back and did the one good thing by sending Karine to me to keep her safe. Quinn you know how Steve is, when his back is at the wall he runs, but where do you thing he would run to now, if you have any thought please get me some idea. said Danny

         :Well, I can ask around the office and see if any new cases came in about pool hustling or if any new bodies where found matching Steve build, But Son I would just think of Karine now and do the best by her, if you think she will be with you longer, you need to enroll her in school, knowing she is there and not home along will put your mind at rest, when she is in school  I will have James keep an eye on her and make sure she get home too. So let’s not jump to any wild thoughts now and just go on with your work at the hospital, and if anything comes up I will call you or just stop by. Said Quinn

         



         Danny nodded and left Quinn's apartment, there is nothing more Danny can do about Steve, but he will take Quinn's advice and put Katrine in school. He got back into his car and drove to the closes junior high school near the hospital. South side prep school for young woman. Danny pulled into the parking lot of the school and before the day was over Katrine was enrolled and will began school in the morning.

         Back at the beach house Katrine is resting her leg and looking into all of Danny's files, she came arose a locked desk drawer, Karine looked for the key buy figured Danny had the key with him, No need Karine pulled a pin out of her hair and jimmied the locked, it pop and she was able to get into the drawer, inside was a tin box and 10x11 folder in with no makings on it, the box wasn't locked she opened it to fined a thick letter with the word Snacks in large Black letter's on the front, before Karine got the chance to see what was in the letter she heard the front door open and Danny's voice calling her.

         "Hey Karine, You hear?" called Danny

Karine quietly put the letter bake in the box and closed the drawer and ran to sit on the sofa with a book just as the door to the office opened, Danny walked in to se her their,

"Oh their you are, I see by the look of you leg it getting better so in the morning you will be attaining the local high school, tenth grade I believe and they are sending over your uniform too, it will be hear this evening so what do you say,? asked Danny sitting behind his desk now

         "hum well only until Steve comes back, have you here form him Danny.? asked Karine

         "Why do you call your father by his first name and not Dad?

         "Because his not around long enough to be called Dad, He pop up and pops out all the time, he leave me with a envelop of money and when its about to run out he comes back, so far the money is still their. said Karine But if you want me to be in the school so You don't have to worry I will go, but only when Steve comes back then i will leave aging. 

         Danny sat their and wondered about her, " How long dose his saying round last? and come hear let me get a good look at that leg  he asked her

         "Well a mouth or two and maybe a few days, but the longest was a mouth so lets play it buy ear Danny, But i will go to school as you wish. said Karine and hoped over to him.

         Karine jumped up on the desk next to Danny so he can look at her leg, the bandaged was clean, Danny unwrapped the leg to see the cut, the cut has indeed healed only a small cut remands but it is not bleeding anymore. Danny put some more medicine on the cut, he didn't rewrap the cut instead let it breath in the open air. "Ok, you will have a small scare their but you will be able to walk with out the wrap on.  "Let me ask you this, if Steve comes back and you find that you wish to live a normal life as a teenager, not running the street and fending for your self anymore I ask you to think about staying with me, I can have Quinn draw up papers giving me the right to care for you and Steve will be ask to give up his right as you father, form his tack history the courts will grant me temporary custody of you until Steve is found. " asked Danny 



         Karine didn't say anything she just hopped down off the desk and went out to the deck to Danny's surprise she lit up a cigarette, Danny walk out to the deck,

         "What do you think you are doing? asked Danny with his hand on his hips

         " Im Smoking, What do you want now " said Karine ,

         ""Did you not understand me for this morning?

         Karine Just surged her shoulders, " What ever man, what ever.  taking a puff and blowing the smoke in Danny's face.  Danny batted the smoke away angrily and tock the cigarette out of her mouth and broke in half then throw it into the sand below. doing his best to keep his temper down 

         " Ok, Like I said before as long as you are here, we are going to set some ground rules understand, Now first of all  No smoking, No drinking, No staying out late pass 10 p.m. on weekends you must been in at 12p. you will call if you are running late I mean relay running late you must call my office and leave me a note, all voicemail go right to my phone when I'm on rounds. so each school night Lights out by 10:30 p.m.  One of the most important thing is you show the upmost respect to all the hospital staff and most of all to Brenda,  Do you understand the rules ? Danny ask her Now lending on the railing of the deck.

         OK, I understand what not to do, so say if I brake a rule what are you going to do then? ask Karine with a daring look in her eye,

         Danny didn't like that look, he has seen that look before on Steve's face, every time Danny tried to stop him form running out to the pool halls. they would get into a fight and one of them would be on the floor bleeding, Danny most of the times, but once Danny got the upper hand on Steve, he punched him hard in the face and broke his nose, Steve pushed Danny into the wall, this time it was more then the pool game they were fighting over, it was all the pain and hurt Steve put his family through came out that night.

          But Danny got the best of him, both were sweeting, bleeding form the face, Danny with a spilt lip and black eye, Steve's nose was flowing like a river of Blood. Steve yelled cruse words at Danny he pick up a duffle bag and ran out of the house that was the last time Danny saw Steve. Until the day Karine was born they put their past felling behind then and hug each other. Now he is looking at the same I dare you stare in this girls face.

         "What I'm I going to do, Well for one thing, wipe that look of your face or You will get a taste of it on you rear end there. " said Danny

         "Get real, you wont hit me," laugh Karine and pulled out other cigarette and blow the smoke in Danny's face again. laughing under her breath.

          Karine started to walk away but Danny grab her and held her over the railing and spanked her. he pulled her back over pulled her into the house. he carried her up to her room she was trying to get lose and all most did, Danny grab her again.  He opened the door and trow her on the bed spanked her again, she wince and whimpered from his punishment. 

         " Now stay hear and don't come out until I call you down, and once you do come down I expect a full apologies form you. and you can be sure this is what you will get each time you disobey my rules or get into trouble in school, and Oh yes you are going in the morning. you will be ready at 7 am dress and ready to go. Now do you understand me? Danny asked her firmly

         Karine looked up at Danny, red faced with anger and

Embarrass form being punished in a public place, 

         " Ok, she said

Karine then turned her hold body around and face the window. Danny nodded and walked out of the room closing the door with a sharp snap.  Danny wasn't sure, but he hopes Karine will obey him, so far in the pass 24 hours it was like growing up with Steve agin,

         Danny fells, Karine may be a lot wore then her father was. Danny just has to hold his ground and hope for the best.

          Danny was sitting at the table, Brenda had come home and was staring dinner, Danny told her what Quinn had side and what he had to do to Karine to get the point,

but he know he couldn't make her stay is she didn't want to,

         " Well Danny you can only do what you can do, but she is use to being on her own and running the show, and not having to pay mind two what her rudeness is doing, so I would let her think about it and if she doesn't want to obey you or me I will tell her theirs the door and have a nice life"  said Brenda setting the table

         "I cant do that, she only fourteen she will get hurt or even killed, I couldn't live with myself if she died on my doing. " said Danny shaking his head

         "Well then, are you going to call her down are wait until after dinner? asked Brenda  Danny chewed on his lower lip, he got up and went to call Karine down to dinner.  Karine came down and once she meat him at the foot of the stars she looked him in the eyes

         " Well, Karine what do you have to say for your self?" ask Danny hands on hips

Karine didn't say anything but throw her arms around Danny and sobbed. through her tears she say she was sorry and will obey his rules. She wiped the tears away and the three of them sat down to dinner just as Danny said  Karine was standing.

         In the morning Karine was getting ready for her first day of school, her uniform had come that morning Danny was still holding his ground, His was expecting her to fight him on the matter but she didn't say a word when he gave her the uniform.

         "Ok, I have James and John coming over to take you to school and James will pick you up and bring you to my office where you will do your homework until the man are off their shift tonight they will bring you home, some nights we will go home together, and that how its going to be each day until Steve come back for you ok?" ask Danny

         Karine nodded, she was dressed and ready to go, she was waiting for the cops to pick her, "Wow the first day of school and she will be coming out of a cop car, can it be any cooler then that, I will have a rep before I even sign in." Karine thought and she was dreaming of the kids faces and the whispering , "Oh what joy this is going to be, she can rely play this up, Karine didn't see Danny in the room and was looking puzzled at her. \

         "What are doing?" asked Danny Karine jumped and turned around

         "Oh I was just think about the new kids I'm going to meet so, you know getting out of a cop car and make kids talk and I don't want to get a bad rep before I even walk into the door, you know. " said Karine trying to look upset about the matter

         "Oh, your right I have thought about that, so I ask the boys to use a unmarked car and dress in street close. So you have nothing to worry.' said Danny smiling and laughing to himself.

         "Oh, right " said Karine deflated and sat with her arms folded in protest.

The door bell rang Danny still laughing to himself went to open the door, James and John were their offers uniforms, Danny looked disappointed at them he open the door wider to let them in.

         "What happen to the street closes you were going to were?" ask Danny

         "Oh sorry Danny, we were on a stack out last night and didn't have time to chance, said James. Danny looked out the door to see the cop curser in the drive way too. " I see., well ok but drop her off a block form the school and follow behind her so you see her go in, and make sure you are in the unmarked car this afternoon ok guys." said Danny. he turned to look at Karine she was beaming and laughing at them. Danny motioned her over and handed her her book-bag.  Karine looked at the two cops

         "Good morning Officers, I'm Karine thank you for the ride to school this morning and I hope I haven't cause you any trouble with Quinn.' said Karine every so sweet

Danny shock his head, " Now missy, like i said last night behave and have fun, you might like it and make some nice friends, Danny knelled down and look at her, I know this is hard but please try to like it. I'll make a deal with you give a full six weeks and in that six weeks you don't get into trouble I will sign you up for home school and you can be with in my office working Ok, said Danny

         Karine Looked at him, thinking she put her hand on his shoulder "Ok DanO you got your self a deal, said Karine

         James and John started to laugh at her calling Danny DanO. Danny look at them and shrugged his shoulders

         "Ok, but if I get one phone call that you are in trouble the deal is off understand ?

         Ok,ok now can we go I don't want to be late on the first day. said Karine

she kissed Danny on the check and walked out the door James and John tip their hats to him and walked out, Danny close the door.

         Ok I have six weeks to find Steve and to get him to give up Karine to me so she can have a better life. but where should I start, Steve never told Karine what kind of work he is doing but if I know my bother is not a honest one. Danny went to his office and unlock his desk, he pulled out the tine box Karine found the night before, he open it the yellow envelope with the word SNAKS on it. He put the file into his bag and then headed off to the hospital
