A poem about hard work and determination |
| The tree stood tall Like a giant Never to fall Only its sight Filled my frail soul With acute fright My hands trembled On the wood axe And I stumbled I had no choice But to give up Then came a voice And strength returned To my weak arms Which were sunburned I struck so hard Yet the tree stood Firm and unmarred I struck harder But my tale was Only sadder In great dismay I turned my back To walk away The voice again I picked the axe I felt the strain The voice's stance My axe started To gain entrance The tree began To tremble like A frightened man My stubborn axe Melted the tree Like candle wax There was a thump Nothing remained But the tree's stump *Moral: Face your challenges, do not give up. You'll overcome |
