thoughts slow
Hand drops

Smoke rises
from a burning chair
Flames alight
He’s not aware

Kids in bed
sound asleep
Slowly dying
from the smoke that creeps

A home in flames
from a goofing man
His falling cigarette
and where it lands

Life’s lost
from a deadly kiss
The goofing man
and his heroin fix
