story about misplaced

Magic in this world is impossibility any more, the energy conductors that one caused magic to be in this world have collapsed and are no longer useable. Thus with the death of Merlin, long ago, magic has been lost to this world in all ways, but one. There is a magical amulet which could be used for magic, or maybe even, if the magician is strong enough re instate the conduit and restore magic to this world.
The issue is, that during one of the many battles humans have waged over it, and other things the magicians stone, which is what it is called, has been lost to time. That which should not have forgotten, was, and knowledge of its great power was all but lost, except a two groups with in the society who are constantly looking for the amulet of power. There is little to nothing known about these groups, or their intentions for the use of this power. As my memory goes, true power in the hands of humans, used wrongly, and it usually is, goes terribly wrong.
So mhere we have Johnathan, a rather young lad, at twenty-four years old, a graduate from college with an accounting degree, who works as an accountant for the frim of Lawson and Higgins, on his way to work one spring day. He had walked most of the way to work and had rounded the corner before entering the office. When his phone rang.
“Hello,” he answered after looking at the number and not recognizing it.
“Hello,” the voice on the other end of the phone said with am English accent to his voice,” Is this Mister Lawson? Johnathan Lawson?”
Surprised at that the voice knew him, let alone his cellphone number,” Umm… yes, it is.”
“Well, this is Mister Thompkins, with the law firm of Kent, oster, and Jenkins.” He said.
“Oh… Hello Mister thompkins,” Johnathan replied very spritly,” I know of your firm through my father. He speaks very highly of your firm.”
“Well, that’s good that our customers speak very nicely of our firm.” Thompkins continued,” But it is my duty to inform you that your father has passed away this morning from a heart attack, at Saint Ignatious hospital.”
The color drained from Johnathans face, his breath left his body, and he immediately sat on the stair to his office to keep from falling down. Johnathan didn’t know what to say, the feelings were over whelming him, and the phone conversation went silent. His head sank into his palms hiding his face from view of anybody as a lone tear burned its way down his face.
“Johnathan?” Thompkins said,” There a3re a few things that need to be taken care of, immediately, and cannot wait.”
“Mister Thompkins, you just told me my parents died, now your tsalking as thought it was an everyday thing. How cou…” Johnathan was interrupted by Mister Thompkins.
“Because, this isn’t a matter of life and death, but its much more important than that, and it was your partents wishes for this to happen upon their deaths. My courier is on his way to you now. Go with him and all will be explained.”
The phone call ended at that time. Followed quickly by a black sedan which pulled up and came to a screeching halt in front of him. The two rear doors flew open and two black suited men got out of the back seat and almost rsan to Johnathans side.
“Come with us Johnathan!” one said as the two of them forcibly picked him up and began to carry him towards their car.
The air was filled with an unusual electrical sound, a bright blue light and suddenly the two muscular men vanished from sight, dropping johnathan back onto his feet.
“Run, Johnathan,” this stranger said as he ran towards him.
The driverside door of the car opened and another dark suited man got out trying to make his way towards johnathan as well. The approaching man waved his hand at his and, like the other two vanished in a flash of blue colored light.
“Mister Thompkins sent me to get you,” he stated as he grabbed Johnathans arm and began to push im towards the corner he just came around a few minuets ago.
“what the…” johanthen tried to say.
“Don’t ask questions right now, johnathan.” This stranger said,” Just run. I promise you that all will be explained at a later and safer time.”
As the two of them rounded the corner, another black vehical, this time a van came to a screeching halt by the curb and the side door opened and several more men, dressed the same way got out.
The two men ran quickly passed them before the men could block their way.
“Down the alleyway, Johnathsan.” The man yelled at him.
Unsure of what to do he did as the stranger commanded. The alley was a dead end and this stopped Johnathan as he saw it, just before the stranger came around the corner behind him.
“We are blocked in,” Johnathan yelled,” You lead us down a dead end alley.”
The stranger yelled a few words in a language that he didn’t recognize, but it sounded familiar to him in some way. Suddenly behind him a yellow light flashed and couple of bolts of yellow lightning flash as a tunnel appeared before them. When the man reached Johnathan, he tackled him and they both fell into the vortex and vanished, closing behind them.
When the four men chasing them saw this they stopped chasing, as they knew they had no chance of finding them.
One of them raised his writ to his mouth.
”We lost them boss.” He said sorrowfully and waited a second before responding, “A yellow transport tunnel took them.”
He pressed his fingers to his ear.
“Ok,” He said,” on our way.”
He turned to the other and said,” let’s go, we are done here.”
They simply slipped out of sight, and vanished from all view, as did the vehicals they arrived in.
The yellow vortex opened in a room, and spit the two out , both landing on the hard floor and tumbling like a couple of rocks rolled down a hill. As the two of them began to recover from the expireience of the transport, a well dressed man entered the room, opn hand in the pocket of his suit and the other wiping the skin under his nose.
“Mister Lawson, I presume?” this well dressed man said as he looked down upone the two men as they lay on the floor looking at the ceiling.
“Yes,” Jonathan answered,” and you must be Mister Tomkins?”
“Yes I am,” Thompkins answered, offering him a hand up.
Johnathan grabbed his hand and then he held it out for the courier, helping them both up off the floor.
“You ok, Sean?” he asked the courier, who said nothing just nodded.
“Are you ok, young man?” he asked as he turned to Jonathan.
“I am, “ he replied,” Now do you want to tell me what’s going on here?”
“All I can do is give you this,” Thompkins said as he produced a small black jewelry box and placed it into his hand.
“What is this?” he asked as he looked over the box.
“Its your destiny,” Thompkins said, as he took a few steps back, as Johnathan opened the box and gazed upon this rock for the first time.
As soon as the light struck this stone it emitted a strangly bright light, in all colors at the same time, then that light once it flashed, reduced itself to a dull glow which enveloped both gem and Johnathan. The glow intensified artound them to the point where Thompkins had to shield his eyes from it or risk going blind from the brightness alone. After a few seconds the glow faded leaving now residual energy behind it.
“What the heck was that?” Johnathan asked.
“That, my young friend,” he continued,” was the binding.”
“And what is the binding?”
“The binding,” he said,” was something that hasn’t been able to occur since the days when Merlin walked the earth as the most powerful wizard, ever.”
“Wizard?” johnathan remarked.
“Yes, Wizard,” Thompkins said,” and you are the first person to complete the binding since then.”
“What does that mean?” johnathan asked.
“It means, young one, that you are now the only one in control of all the magic with int this world.” Thompkins said with a reverence in his voice.
“All of it?”
“Yes, all of it,” Thompkins said,” All of the misplaced magic of this world is now yours to command and control.”
