My first Poem

My first WDC Poem for a Newbie Contest

As I lay here and wonder what I should write,
I can't help but think that I should give up on this fight.

Who am I to think that I can write a poem?
I hope I can think of one to show'em.

I wanted to write a short story,
But nothing in my head had any glory.

I have never written for a contest.
Wouldn't that be something if I were to win this conquest?

More confident is what I should learn to be.
I think Writing.com can help me see,

That even if I think I have no skill,
I should just sit back and let myself chill.

There are many nice people here that give me safety.
I don't ever have to worry that anybody will hate me.

I like that there are so many stories I get to preview.
They even want me to write a review!

So let me say thank you to the Writing.com family,
For helping me to keep my sanity.
