Writer's Cramp Challenge poem for July 16, 2016. |
How do I yet write? What do I yet say? My brain is the type to be challenged this way! "Challenged what way?" comes the furtive response. "Challenged by day, that needs feet in the pond." "Would you eat in the pond the green eggs and ham?" "Go the rhythm beyond, my dear Sam, I Spam!" "Would you run in the rain, your brain yet to help?" "You would drive me insane, and cause me to yelp!" "Would a dive in the pool relieve you to think?" "Your words are quite cruel, I'm starting to sink!" "If sink you would now, your brain would be cool!" "Your words make me drown! I feel like a fool!" "So, eggs will not work, all green, though they be, "And pool you would shirk, when talking with me, "The rain you disdain, as the pond, you do, too, "Will you tell me quite plain, is there aught I can do?" "Dear Sam, you can keep your good thoughts to yourself. "My brain would now seek, to keep talk on the shelf. "Suggestions are good, when ready to hear, "But brains, that are hot, make thinking unclear." by Jay O'Toole on July 15, 2016 at 2:20 PM (EDT) Word Count = 193 Lines of verse = 40 |
