For my beautiful son

You make me feel
Like the days are worth living
Beautiful innocence
I'll always be here

Every single day
I wake with a smile
Knowing I get to see you
In just a short while

The moment I saw your face
I felt like I knew you
Or at least that we'd met
Somewhere in our dreams

A familiar face
Looking right toward me
Eyes gazing down
Ready to save me

We didn't know before
But in that split moment
I knew exactly what your name was
Your energy pointed and told me

You will never know, my boy
Quite how much you saved me
From a dull and fake existence
You're now my one and only

Somehow, my heart grows bigger
On a daily basis
It swells with Love for you
It beats harder from my chest

I really don't know
What I ever did without you
Wasting the time I had
On insignificant moments

It comes down to this now
I'll only do right by you
To guide you through life
Where I have failed without help

My life is only for you now
To give you all my love, firstly
And to second make you proud
Of me your doting father
