Thanksgiving Day is the front door to the House of Christmas, my favorite time of year! |
A great and joyous day we know, when greatest thanks we give, Through loving heart our blessings show as gratitude we live. Is there a better thing to do than cease from troubled thought? Our focus we do full renew in gracious Hope we're taught! For each twelve months we season start, most wondrous time of year! Now, Christmas comes to Joy impart in peace, that reigneth clear. The greatest bliss on Day of Thanks as Door to House of Joy Is Welcome mat, that garland flanks in month of child's employ! "Now, thank we all our God" this day, "from heart and loving voice," The song by Martin Rinkart play with gratitude, our choice. With grateful words to God, we praise for He is why we live, All loving souls throughout our days share gifts and thanks we give! We thank the ones, who cared for us, when we were very small, We thank the ones, whose fight is just, obey Protection's call! We thank The LORD for thankful Day, remembering full well, That house is built to stand what may confront the thanks we tell. Foundation's built on truest heart, there happiness resides, For Christmas could not ever start, 'less gratitude abides. We thank you, God, for Jesus' lowly birth, Who came to give Himself as highest worth, He died upon the cross up there to pay for sin, that humans bare and raised to life, so new, so rare, That when exchange we Christmas gifts on Earth, We'll know we're given righteousness and mirth!
