A poem inspired by Starwriter and her poem "Jack Frost". Only her title inspired me.
There was a cold nip in the air,
cold enough for me,
to hunt for a coat,
that I define as cozy.

And I could feel,
as Jack Frosty,
came up to me,
and gave me something non-toasty.

It was small,
but not small enough,
to make my nose cold,
it was sort of rough.

When I went inside,
I felt even better,
like I was able,
to take on this weather.

But back outside,
the wind was still rough,
my nose was cold yet again,
"I have had enough!"

"If there's to be winter,
"and it's cold,
"then maybe Jack Frost,
"has to be told."

"That South Georgia want Christmas,
"the right way,
"so it will be easy,
"for Santa and his sleigh."

So I waited until Christmas,
hoping Christmas won't be like last year,
where people were swimming,
instead of singing loud for all to hear.

And on Christmas Eve night,
what could I see,
but a little, tiny snowflake,
falling before me.

I was excited,
enthralled you might add,
for people who don't know what that is,
I was just really glad!

It has never snowed,
for years and years,
now the whole neighborhood,
could hear my cheers.

"Mom! Dad! It's snowing!!"
I yelled at the top of my lungs,
for this girl felt like counting all the snowflakes,
each and every one.
