Who has the right to decide the status of a human? Another human? Does The Creator decide? |
How can this be that one human could call another human, "non-human!" Throughout the world today the practice of privileged humans who dehumanize other humans is all too widespread. The blight of human trafficking easily falls into this category. Two of the most grievous epochs of human history were the 400 years of light-skinned slavery (the Jews) by their dark-skinned slave masters (the ancient Egyptians) and the recent centuries in which dark-skinned slaves from Africa were stolen from their homes to be sold as cattle in the New World by their light-skinned slave masters of European descent. That WRONG of supposedly civilized European settlers in the New World was affirmed by the Dred Scott Decision in 1856, which said in essence and in effect, "The slaves have no human rights. The slaves are property of their masters. The master can do with the slave as he pleases." Three years later Charles Darwin published his evolutionary treatise, which seemed to be an in-your-face affirmation of the Dred Scott Decision. It was woefully titled, On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life. The book included tragic illustrations, which were most unflattering to the character and status of people of color. The societal boil came to a head one year later in the commencement of the American Civil War. The phrase, "favoured races" could arguably seen as a prompt for the concept of eugenics that was fully in vogue fifty years after that. It would seem that the theory of evolution just naturally led to eugenics philosophy. This in turn created the so-called "right to abortion," which was legalized in the January, 1973 Roe v. Wade Decision. Here is a quick review. In 1856 the Dred Scott Decision proclaimed in essence, "The slaves have no human rights. The slaves are property of their masters. The master can do with the slave as he pleases." In 1973 the Roe v. Wade Decision proclaimed in essence, "The baby has no human rights because it has no human existence. The fetus is merely tissue and as such is part of the mother's body. She can do with the baby as she pleases." Humans have spent an inordinate amount of effort over the past 157 years making the case for the "non-Existence of God." Is it any wonder that humans who believe they have the ability to make God nonexistent believe that they have the ability to make other humans nonexistent as well? As a human who is no longer part of fashionable Society, let me go on record saying, without equivocation, that I believe The Word of God, especially when it stands in contradiction to the words of fallible humans. I believe that Life begins at conception from the physical science perspective. The egg cell of 23 chromosomes does not define life, remaining a pre-living entity. The sperm cell of 23 chromosomes does not define life, remaining a pre-living entity as well. The union of egg (23 chromosomes) and sperm (23 chromosomes) creates a zygote (46 chromosomes,) which contains all the information necessary for life from conception through the cessation of natural life (aka death.) Therefore, 46 chromosomes constitute life, since these 46 chromosomes can never again be separated into their original two sets of 23 chromosomes. The only form of cessation for the newly-formed 46 chromosomes must necessarily be defined as death. Abortion is a misnomer and as such the term, "abortion" has no value in the subject of the human life cycle. However, I believe that Life begins before conception in The Mind of God, Who told the prophet, Jeremiah, "Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations." (Jeremiah 1:5, AKJV) In other words humans are always humans from the moment of conception throughout eternity. To quote that great theologian, Theodor Seuss Geisel, in words of his heroic character, Horton, “A person's a person, no matter how small.” |
