Dichromatic echoes
reverberate through my mind,
as black and white shadows dance
across my closed eyelids
forming the shapes
of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde.

Is this nightmare
a trick of an overworked brain,
or the beginning of insanity?

A shiver of fear
undulates up my spine,
sending spectral fingers of ice
migrating through my veins.

Unable to open my eyes,
I scream,
but the sound only echoes
inside my head.
