Facing my fears.

Afraid

I’m afraid of my past
Memories strong enough to last
Spells the spirits will cast
No longer able to run fast.

I’m afraid of my present
Lowering myself in a descent
Unknown to what extent
Leaves an acrid scent.

I’m afraid of my future
Tired of being insecure
Wanting to find adventure
I finally find closure.
