Halloween poem |
| Oh No, Help!! There is something about this particular night. The chill of the October air, Up and down the streets children roam, dressed up in strange costumes brandishing flashlights, the words "trick-or-treat" can be heard from all directions. Outside my bowl is pandemonium, but inside, I sit and wait. Every once in awhile I get shuffled around in my bowl. I am beginning to feel apprehensive. What happens if I get picked up? Do I really want to be picked up? I mean I have it good in this bowl, I know my place and am secure here. Then excitement overcomes me and I wonder what life holds for me outside my bowl. What am I missing out on? Once again I hear "trick-or-treat. But this time I am picked up. Anxiety overcomes me. What is going to happen to me? Then something very strange happens. My wrapper which has always clothed me in security is removed. slowly I am lifted closer to a mouth with huge, chomping teeth. I now know my fate. I am about to be eaten. OH NO!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
