I cannot seem to find a topic,
Perhaps my muse is a bit myopic,
Is its eyesight hyperopic,
Or is the problem ametropic?
All the lines and rhymes are blurry,
Similes and metaphors sound slurry,
Stanzas are hidden in a snow flurry:
I cannot think because of worry.
Does my muse need prescription lens
To find a poem's whose, whats, and whens?
Does my muse need an eyesight cleanse,
Or a pair of intraocular lens?
Is this an ordinary case of writer's block?
Am I experiencing thought gridlock?
Does my muse need to see an eye doc?
Is there a way out of this deadlock?
This is an attempt to overcome writer's block. I am trying to write an ode, and each time I start it I encounter a roadblock before I finish it. One of the methods I use to overcome writer's block is to write a poem or rant about it.
