How Do We Heal?

Oh if only you could see through my eyes,
you’d know how much I truly love you.
Oh to hold you in my arms right now
is all I want to do.

I know we need to talk and yet the words don’t come.
I see your broken heart that needs to mend.
But no matter what you’re going through,
I want you to know on me you can depend.

I hate to see you silently suffer.
Won’t you please open up to me?
Don’t let confusion, pride or pain
tear us apart needlessly.

I believe in us and all that we share.
I believe we can get through this.
The anguish and fear you feel inside
I will never dismiss.

If you think that no one’s here for you,
turn your head and look at me.
You can let your tears flow and I’ll hold you close.
By your side I’ll always be.
