1 Describe your protagonist’s life in the beginning Campion Toussaint was educated in the arts of magic, taught as a teenager to defend against warlocks, witches, and wizards. Upon graduation from the school “Across the Veil,” he entered Charlotte State College, to study Computer Science. After all, in this reality magic did not exist. But the young man was gifted, had an ability, two of them. Empathic to the point where he could reach into the minds of those hurting, see their pain, and ease it. The second, one that he did not discover until he was in college, allowed him to profit, to a point. 2. Describe the inciting incident or trigger that prompts your protagonist to embark on the story’s journey and face the conflict. Campion thought it was just another lost object case: a bride-to-be wanted to use her family’s heirloom jewelry at her wedding, but it had been missing for ten years. She and her bridesmaids came into the office with a perfect understanding of how the process worked. And when he used the gift of second sight, he saw something else: Those who wish the veil to come down were readying themselves. Campion also saw something: the woman’s pearl necklace was key to stopping them. But how? |
