I heard some words
That struck my heart.
And your memory.

I tried to pay
Homage to you with
My own words.

But how do I praise
The man that deserves
So much more.

Your kind heart had enough
Room for your big family,
And every soul you ever met.

I will carry with me the
Memories of your laugh.
And of your quirks.

Here’s to the
Man that always gave
The gift of his kindness.

To the forever
Love that you proved
Does exist.

These simple words could
Never hope to
Capture you completely.

But I can
Hope that they do
Say what’s in my
Heart.

My biggest hope is that
You’re proud I am
Your granddaughter.
