This poem is entered in "The Writer's Cramp" The prompt is to write about a cat delivering a present to a front door 24 Lines Feline Amazon Special Delivery August ushered in the wind, as we turned all eyes toward fall brown leaves filtered all around Dying summer's mewing call We walk to some slower beats, along with our Basset Hound Stumble and sniff our ways home her nose always glued to ground Our pup scratched and pawed the dirt UPS truck in her sights Kitty cat with a present Giving us a bit of fright! Many seasons have we shared Three together, not alone as we walk some distant miles over street and cobble stone We realized very soon Much to our sighing relief Cat carried Amazon goods Kitty cat wasn't a thief! Our puppy dog completes us Making friends with cats and such Cat presents make us all smile Dog treats could be for lunch! |
