On the wave of a summer romance
life demanded that we take a chance
That time when we were so young
A lifetime of songs left to be sung

September found us close together,
abandoned leaves mean changing weather
throwing roses into the rain
never knowing that love may soon bring pain

Ordinary places, two hearts reeling

Feet won't stop for average life
Laundromat, car wash, grocery store strife
