Lizard?

A silly verse about my ongoing confusion

Is that a lizard over yonder?
Looks like one, but still I ponder
Could it be a salamander?
Amble over, take a gander.
No, its skin is dry and papery
I move closer (don't mind my gapery)
Longer toes in a drier habitat
Where you'd find snakes (perhaps a rabbit) at
Yup, I'm sure this is a lizard
(But don't ask me if it's her or hizard.)
